[Who] Hi, and welcome to my site! As you've probably already noticed, my name is Jowita Kostek. Jo's fine, too. I reside in Chicago, Illinois and will be entering my final semester at Columbia College. I am currently earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising Art Direction. [What] My main focus is art direction and graphic design. I've worked on ad campaigns, brochures, direct mail, point-of-purchase, billboards, storyboards, typeface design, signage, banner ads, and business identity. However, I also do work as a photo retouching artist, a field that I've specialized in for the past four years. I've done numerous projects, ranging from simple tasks such as removing blemishes, to much more complex ones, including composites, restoration of badly damaged pictures, and altering individuals' appearances. [Why] One way or another, I would have ended up in a creatively driven career, because it is something I'm strongly drawn to. But I chose advertising art because it appealed to me so much more than any other creative route. The reasoning? Advertising has the potential to provide a designer with a great deal of power, that being the ability to truly influence their audience.
